Michael Gould

Michael Gould is Esri’s Global Education Manager, formerly Esri’s Director of Education for Industry Solutions. He earned his doctorate in geography from the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA) at the University at Buffalo, New York.

Michael’s role includes managing the global strategy to use GIS in higher education, secondary schools and informal education, based on community requirements. Before joining Esri, he was an interdisciplinary professor of information systems and co-creator of an Erasmus Mundus funded geospatial technologies Master’s program at Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain.

Michael’s research interests include spatial data infrastructures (SDI), standards-based interoperability, and geospatial web services. He has global experience, industrial experience and as a consultant interested in changing behavior through education.
