GIS Day is a global forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to explore and demonstrate real-world applications of the technology that are making a difference in our society.
The theme of this year’s GIS Day is Location based decision making: Geospatial solutions to enhance sustainable development goals.
In collaboration with the National Geospatial Information Agency, Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG), and Kelompok Studi Geografi from Universitas Indonesia, Esri Indonesia will host guest speakers from government agencies such as Bappeda Depok and NGOs like World Resources Institute Indonesia and Depok Communication and Information Agency* in four subevents.

Student Competition (Esri Story Map)
Are you an undergraduate with an interest in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Tell us more using Story Maps.
Are you thinking sustainably? Join us on a treasure hunt for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using Esri applications.
This free, hands-on, technical session is open to the public and will show you how to use ArcGIS Platform to create and share informative maps.
Additionally, you can visit the GIS Gallery and Exhibition area at Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Indonesia where mobile and web applications developed by Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG), World Resources Institute (WRI), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), KSG UI and Esri Indonesia will be on display.
Experience the ArcGIS platform and the solutions developed using its technology across various sectors in Indonesia while also getting a chance to try some of Esri’s latest technologies including Drone2Map, Survey123 for ArcGIS, ArcGIS 360VR, and more.
The GIS Gallery and Exhibition areas will be open to the public Friday 17 November and Saturday 18 November 2017, free of charge.
