John Day

John Day has over 30 years’ military engineering experience. He has served with counter-terrorism activities in Northern Ireland, manoeuvre warfare in West Germany, and provided geospatial support at various NATO corps headquarters.

Since joining Esri in 1997, John has advised the US Intelligence Community on how commercial GIS technologies and solutions strengthen defence and intelligence systems.

He is now the director of global national security business development for Esri – supporting customers requiring national multi-agency, multi-mission solutions, not only for defence and intelligence, but also for national mapping, public safety and health.

Day is a former British Army officer commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He has master degrees in engineering from University of Cambridge and in GIS from Edinburgh University.
