Kickstart your career in geospatial science
The Esri Young Scholar Award celebrates excellence, innovation, and creativity in the use of GIS technology to solve real-world challenges.
Each year this exciting Award gives one lucky Indonesian student the opportunity to advance their GIS career, by offering valuable industry experience, exposure to the geospatial sector and a platform to present their work on a global stage.
How to enter
To be in the running to become the 2023 Esri Young Scholar, Indonesian undergraduate and postgraduate geospatial discipline students are invited to submit a project, software development, application or research paper that strategically leverages GIS to drive positive outcomes.
The submission must include:

A completed ‘Young Scholar Entry Form’.

An entry project, software development, application or research paper.

A written response (no more than 500 words) outlining the purpose of your project, its value and why you should be the next Indonesian Esri Young Scholar.

A one-page poster that provides an overview of your project or report. The poster must be 300dpi and a .pdf or .png file.

Proof that you are currently enrolled as a student at a university in Indonesia – in the form of a letter from your lecturer/tutor and a photocopy of your university ID.
Submissions close on 13 March 2023.

Judging
Entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on the following criteria:

Creativity and/or innovation

Real-world relevancy
-
Application of Esri technology
-
Technical merit
The judging panel will select the 2023 Indonesian Esri Young Scholar, with a public announcement made via Esri Indonesia’s website and social media channels.
