A leading provider of GIS (Geographic Information System) solutions, Esri Indonesia is once again hosting GeoInnovation Indonesia 2025.
This annual event highlights the real-world impact of geospatial technology across various sectors while reinforcing Esri Indonesia’s role as a catalyst for digital transformation in the country.
By combining the capabilities of ArcGIS software with the expertise of GIS professionals, organisations are achieving significant breakthroughs in operational efficiency and public service delivery.
“The award recipients this year represent the forefront of Indonesia’s digital transformation journey. Esri Indonesia is committed to providing reliable and accessible geospatial technology to solve real-world challenges across sectors,” said Habisanti, Country General Manager of Esri Indonesia.
Innovating with geospatial technology
The national energy and electricity sector was a key focus of the GeoInnovation Awards 2025.
PT Pertamina (Persero) received the Excellence in Impact award for its Real-Time Permit innovation, first introduced at the Esri User Conference in San Diego. This system digitizes paper-based permit processes into a digital platform, enabling real-time monitoring of more than 5,000 documents across 258 subsidiaries. Key features include a spatial visualization dashboard, text-based search with a chatbot, and an alert system for permits nearing expiration. It strengthens permit governance through a centralized and adaptive system, helping to avoid potential fines and the need for reengineering.
Digitalising permits is not just about storing data, but also providing a comprehensive spatial overview to support more informed and timely decision-making,” said Fadjar Djoko Santoso, VP Corporate Communications at Pertamina.
PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara - PLN (Persero) also received the Excellence in Impact award for its solution that leverages spatial data analysis and artificial intelligence to improve the reliability of its 20 kV power network through proactive vegetation management. The system assesses vegetation risks that could interfere with power corridors, allowing PLN to address issues before outages occur
IIntegrating AI with GIS represents a major leap in vegetation management. With precise spatial visualization and intelligent analytics, PLN can strengthen network resilience, predict potential disruptions before they happen, and ensure a much higher level of power supply reliability,” said Very Fernando, Analis TI at PLN.
