This depends on the type of license you have — a term license will expire after 12-months whereas a perpetual license will not expire. However, if ArcGIS Pro is licensed through ArcGIS Online, access to ArcGIS Online expires after 12 months.

ArcMap will remain supported until March 2026. While there’s no immediate rush to migrate, we encourage you to explore the resources and consider your next steps.

We actually recommend running ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro in parallel to ensure that you have fully migrated your projects and workflows before switching off ArcMap.

In most instances, there is no cost to upgrade as your ArcGIS Desktop license entitles you to both ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.

You may incur a cost if you need to upgrade to the latest version of ArcGIS Pro or to renew your maintenance.

For as long as you like; ArcMap is not going away, Esri’s just not going to develop it any further but you can continue to use it.

After 2026, you may not be able to get support for ArcMap but you can engage with the Esri community for questions.
